Don Yenko was a major performance dealer for many years and was very instrumental in laying the groundwork for the L-72 (427) Camaro. In years preceding 1969, Yenko performed numerous 427-engine conversions, as a few others did. However, when he planned a new ?Super Car? distributorship for the 1969?s, he knew that the demand would outweigh his ability to perform all the labor and time for the engine swaps. His solution would be to convince Chevrolet to build a quantity of 427 Camaros under a Central Office Production Order. As the 427s were received, Yenko sent them off to various shops to receive special emblems, decals, stripes, and options ordered. Window stickers and other factory documentation were removed and a YENKO sticker was applied. The Creative Masters division was the German division of the Revell die-cast company (not to be associated with the Revell NASCAR division, which was once owned by Action Performance). Creative Master's diecast collectibles are known for their excellent detail, and have become highly sought after by enthusiasts. All Creative Master's mint-quality collectibles are produced in 1/20th scale, setting them apart from the rest of the companies who churn out 1/18 and 1/24 cars.
